Your 4-week supply of Mounjaro will be delivered via the Royal Mail Tracked 24 option. Your package will include:
Your KwikPen and necessary needles for administration, packed in a (100% natural) material called Woolcool and ice gel packs to ensure optimal temperature during transit.
A sharps bin for the safe disposal of used needles.
If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, please accept it, check the contents, and contact our Patient Care team promptly.
Packaging may sometimes appear damaged due to transit or weather. Our Woolcool temperature-controlled packaging protects the medication, though ice packs may occasionally leak and affect the cardboard. This does not impact the pen's condition or effectiveness. Refrigerate the package immediately and contact us if you have any concerns.

*For illustrative purposes only. The brand of sharps bin, needles and wipes in your package may differ to those above.
Please check the expiry date of your medication before use.
The expiry date can be found in the letter from the Mounjaro manufacturer, Eli Lilly, which comes with your medication.
For detailed instructions on preparation, dose selection, needle attachment, safe injection practices, and pen disposal, please refer to the Patient Information Leaflet found inside your medication box. You can access an online version here. We highly recommend carefully following all instructions provided.

Before first use please store Mounjaro in a fridge (2°C to 8°C). It is crucial to avoid freezing the medication and don’t use it if it has been exposed to freezing temperatures.
After first use and once opened, Mounjaro can be stored at room temperature (8°C to 30°C) for up to 30 days. Always keep the pen cap on when the pen is not in use to protect it from light exposure.
If you have purchased a bundle, please remember to keep your second pen in a fridge (2°C to 8°C) until its first use, even if you have begun using your first pen.
Safeguard Mounjaro from light exposure and keep it out of the reach and sight of children.

If you notice any damage to the pen, or if the medication appears cloudy, discoloured, or contains particles, do not use it and contact us immediately.
You should report any issues to us within 24 hours of receiving the medication. However, even if you notice any issue after this period please let us know so we can alert the manufacturer and try to assist.
As with all medications, side effects can occur when taking Mounjaro. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Rest assured that these tend to settle as your body adapts to the medication.
If you experience prolonged stomach pain, a sustained increased heart rate, or any symptoms that are alarming to you, please stop using your treatment and get in touch.
Gallstones are a fairly common condition within the UK population, affecting roughly 1 in 10 people. Approximately 1 in 10 users of Wegovy, and up to 1 in 100 Mounjaro users, develop gallstones. Additionally, up to 1 in 100 experience inflammation of the gallbladder. These occurrences are often linked to rapid weight loss, typically around 1.5kg (over 3 pounds) per week. Cholecystitis, or gallbladder inflammation, appears to be more prevalent among Mounjaro and Wegovy users.
Individuals with gallstones can still consider using Mounjaro or Wegovy, but we will evaluate various factors during your consultation to determine the suitability of weight loss medication for you.
If you experience abdominal discomfort, particularly on the right side beneath your ribs, it is essential to seek medical attention promptly.
In cases of severe pain, vomiting, blood in urine, or a high temperature, please contact NHS 111 for guidance or proceed to A&E. We advise maintaining a diet of small, frequent meals throughout the day to avoid rapid weight loss and encourage adequate hydration.
Women of child-bearing age are recommended to use contraception during treatment with both Wegovy and Mounjaro (and for 4 weeks after ending your Mounjaro treatments).
With Mounjaro - as a precaution - it is advised switching to a non-oral contraceptive method, or add a barrier method of contraception upon beginning your treatment (for 4 weeks), or after each increase in dose (for 4 weeks).
After use, promptly dispose of used pen needles in the provided sharps bin. Avoid disposing of loose pen needles in household waste. Please consult with your local council on the disposal of sharps bins in your area.
The used pens can be taken to your local pharmacy for disposal after removing the needle.
Please refrain from recycling used sharps disposal containers.
