EllaOne contains Ulipristal Acetate and is used as an emergency contraceptive to pregent pregnancy. It works by inhibiting or delaying ovulation, which prevents pregnancy following unprotected sex.
Take one tablet orally with water as soon as possible - and within 5 days after unprotected sex, or contraception failure.
Common side effects may include nausea, abdominal pain, headache and changes in menstrual bleeding.
This form of contraception may not be effective if taken too late after unprotected sex. It's also really important to consider regular contraception methods for ongoing protection against pregnancy, if desired.
